I’m pretty excited about some new improvements I’ve been working on lately to make things easier for all of my clients. In case you haven’t noticed.

I receive a lot of feedback from my clients about how great it is to be so involved in choosing the music for key moments in the reception. While it’s not required, many people find it fun to get to choose their favorite music for dinner & cocktail hour as well as events like the cutting the cake and bouquet toss.

Sometimes these choices are obvious, sometimes it’s a little harder to know what songs will make the day perfect. I’m pleased to announce that now integrated into the music selection area of the client area there are now extensive lists of helpful song ideas to help point you in the right direction when making music selections for your reception.

These lists are created from online requests from thousands of events from thousands of entertainers throughout the world so the choices are quite varied. You can simply click on a song on the list and add it to your request list for your big day. It’s simply perfect.

The lists featured include The Top 200 Requested Songs and five Top 100 lists from the 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, 90′s and 2000′s. These lists are great for choosing music based on your favorite decade to please every age of guest.

The best part (in my opinion) are Top 50 lists of song ideas for all the special events during the reception. You won’t need to choose a song from these lists but it helps having such great lists included right inside where you’ll be doing your planning. These Top 50 lists are:

Bride & Groom Dance
Bride & Father Dance
Groom & Mother Dance
Bridal Party Dance
Bouquet Toss
Garter Toss
Cake Cutting

Once your logged into Music Selection section of the the client area, just click the button in the upper right hand corner that says MOST REQUESTED. Double click on the song you want and it’ll perform a song search that you can add straight to your song list. This might also be a good place to find songs that you don’t want played at the reception… some times songs can be OVER requested.

I’m hoping this will help people take advantage of how much music is in my collection without having to search through every song in my database. (Which no one would ever want to do!) I hope this makes planning your music even easier, try it out and let me know what you think.

DID YOU KNOW? If your not a current client you can preview the entire client area (including the music selection lists) by going to the client login area through this link.

I get wonderful comments back from my clients about how easy and simple it is to plan all their wedding details right here through my website. So I wanted to offer a chance for everyone to take a look around on how it works. I’ve created a sample login, so all you have to do is click on the ‘client login’ link to the left of the page. Use the date “March 18, 2006″, the password is “demo”. Feel free to poke around, change the different options, even choose a couple of song requests. Once you book your reception, I create a unique login for you to begin planning your own wedding details. ENJOY!

Ok, this entry I promise not to talk about being busy (oops! guess I just did). ANYWAY, I’m really anxious to post about the reception I just performed at this past weekend. I do my best always to help customize every aspect of every reception to suit the wants and desires of every couple, and this past weekend that notion was put to the test. I was hired to perform for a great couple who were interested in incorporating some Jewish traditions and a variety of traditional Jewish music into their reception. With some great instructions from the Bride and Groom, I was able to find some wonderful Klezmir music to play during the cocktail hour, and was able to introduce the recently married couple into a warm circle of their friends and family while playing Havah Nagilah. It was truly awesome watching as the crowd lifted not only the newlyweds up on chairs, but their parents as well!

You could see that the many older relatives in attendance really appreciated these added touches to the reception and it helped make sure everyone felt included in the festivities. What was especially nice was how these details were added along with a rather modern selection of dance music throughout the evening. It was a wonderful day to be a part of and I’m honored to have had the pleasure in being there.

More and more couples are trying to find ways to make their special day ‘different’ than the ‘typical’ wedding day, take a note from this inventive couple, don’t be afraid to look to older traditions that could make your day truly unique and new.
