The first question after “will you marry me” is typically “when’s the wedding?”. Choosing the right day can be as hard as finding the right person to marry (well, for some). The day of your wedding can be an opportunity to express who you are as much as the music and location. This past Sunday I performed at the wedding of Megan Espenschied and Brent Tritt at the Alpine Room in Enon Valley, PA.

Clearly the time of year played a big a part in Megan & Brent’s decision of when to hold their special day. They were married outside at the Alpine Room’s outdoor facility and the weather was perfect. It had rained in spurts throughout the day, but the sky was perfectly clear while they held their nuptials. They included great elements of the season throughout the venue including the name cards, centerpieces, cake and an out of this world cookie table.

Megan & Brent made a request list for me that was fun and diverse. The mix worked out perfectly, I was already getting compliments during cocktail hour and dinner.

Brent is the cousin of Andy Diehl, Matt Diehl & Holly Kuczynski. I was the DJ for Holly’s wedding a couple of years ago. Holly and her husband Brian now have a BEAUTIFUL little girl! I was so happy to get to meet little Aubry at the wedding and see the Diehl family.

The staff at the Alpine room is always great to work with so the evening moved along smoothly with tons of time for visiting and dancing!

Megan’s sister was married this past February in Niagara Falls. They didn’t have a DJ at their wedding so Megan had me play a song so Emily could dance with her father. It was very sweet!

Megan and Brett had a perfect Fall wedding. The weather was wonderful for their outdoor wedding and their guests enjoyed the convenience of having everything held in one location. I was thrilled when the newlyweds told me they were having a Disney World honeymoon and then a cruise to the Bahamas! A perfect end to a wonderful occasion.

Jennifer and Mick

I went back to the SNPJ in Enon Valley, PA this past weekend for the wedding of Jennifer Barthen and Mick Minamyer. Jennifer is the daughter of my High School Band director and I was so happy that they asked me to come and play for the big day.

Mick is a band director as well and picked out some awesome and unique music for cocktails and dinner. After that Jenn and Mick were completely open to whatever their guests wanted to hear. The really enjoyed the oldies, country and rock music… and yes, they did the chicken dance (Jennifer’s brother FAVORITE!).

Mick performed a Sister Hazel song for Jennifer that he had been practicing in secret for months. It was a great moment.

The SNPJ is always great. Their caterer/coordinator David is on top of everything all night long, makes my job super simple.

Although playing a wedding for someone I’ve know for 20 years made me feel kinda old, I can’t say enough how happy I was to help out on such a great day. Jennifer and Mick are so perfectly matched it was so special to be with them.

This Saturday I perform at the wedding reception of Holly & Brian Kuczynski. They had an amazing reception at the SNPJ Alpine Room in Enon Valley, PA. Almost 300 guests were there to celebrate with the newlyweds. I’ve known Holly & Brian and their family for quite a few years and I was so happy when they chose me to play for their special day.

The SNPJ is a DJ dream, great staff, big dance floor, and lots of room to setup!

Their colors where pink & green and created such a great spring look on all the tables. They had cupcakes on each table instead of having a cake served. I thought they made a great centerpiece. Of course, it made the whole ROOM smell like CUPCAKES!

I also had the great fortune to work with TWO great photographers. I went to High School with Beth Spence and had no idea she was shooting weddings these days, it was great to get to see her. I also got to work with Pamela Kopka who I had worked with before at a wedding last year. It’s so great to work with professionals who know how to work under any circumstances, these two were on the ball all night and didn’t miss a thing.

The newlyweds had a WIDE variety of music for dancing… line dances, country, pop, rock… something for everyone!
