Emily and Ryan (Airport Marriott)

Every once in a while, I’m lucky enough to DJ for a couple who know exactly what songs will connect with their guests and take their celebration to the next level.  Emily and Ryan recommended a fantastic selection of music which made their reception the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott the party of a lifetime.

Throughout the ballroom, Emily and Ryan provided customized touches to make the day even more special.   Their tables were named for locations at Penn State, paying homage to the newlyweds’ alma mater.

Once dinner was completed, the dance floor exploded as everyone danced, sang and went wild to a great variety of music.  Guests of every age couldn’t seem to get enough of the songs from every genre.  Emily and Ryan knew exactly how to create an epic celebration that no one would soon forget.  The newlyweds are now headed off to Hawaii to begin their new life together.

What do you get when you combine a large Italian family with an even larger Greek family? The answer is obviously going to be one of the largest, most exciting, and unforgettable wedding receptions EVER! Stephanie and Stephen combined traditions with a contemporary style to create a once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

As guests made their way into the ballroom at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, everyone commented on the amazing, custom made ice bar which was open after dinner to serve drinks.  The dancing kicked off with traditional Italian and Greek dances, which were sure to include everyone from the bride & groom’s families.

As the night progressed, all the guests had a chance to dance for over four hours to great music from yesterday and today.  Stephanie and Stephen now get to enjoy their honeymoon in Greece, knowing their big day was truly perfect.

Some friends and family members should not be trusted to participate in your wedding day.  The last thing anyone wants is crazy Uncle John going out and getting his mix tape out of the truck to play during your first dance.  That said, if you’re lucky enough to have loved ones that are trustworthy, they can help create special moments during your big day that you’ll never forget.  Monica and Josh were fortunate enough to have some pretty amazing moments assisted by family at their reception at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott in Moon Township. Fiorenzo Babir Wedding I received a call before the wedding from Moncia’s sisters to request some assistance for the Maids of Honors’ toast.  I provided the music as they rapped well-wishes to the newlyweds to “The Fresh Price of Bel Air” theme.  Monica also chose to allow her dad to call me with a surprise father/daughter dance (Frank Sinatra’s The Way You Look Tonight).  These few unexpected moments really helped add some unique and fun to the evening. It was a wonderful evening of celebration and family.  Everyone had a fantastic time dancing, singing, and enjoying the photo booth.  Before the newlyweds headed off for their honeymoon in Aruba, the guests crowded the dance floor for three wild and fun farewell songs.

Tessa and Brian (Pittsburgh Airport Marriott)

It’s become cliche to talk about how quickly time seems to pass by on the wedding day.  While I’m certain clocks continue to click at their normal speed, couples do have to choose how to spend the day wisely.  Tessa and Brian created one of the most original and brilliant evenings I’ve ever been a part of this Memorial Day weekend at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott in Moon Township.

Guests gathered for a cocktail hour held outside before a beautiful and romantic candlelight ceremony.  Afterwards everyone made their way indoors to enjoy the food stations, visiting, and over 3 hours of crazy fun dancing.

At nearly 2 AM, time did eventually run out.  Tessa and Brian’s friends and family weren’t interested in ending the party as they all chanted for one last song. The newlyweds had pulled off a unique wedding celebration that their guests will not soon forget.

You can make your wedding day much more personal by taking the time to add little touches and special details that will mean a lot to your guests.  If you happen to be creative and crafty, then it should be easy to find ways to customize the day in a variety of ways.  At Megan Nauman and James Dallvechia’s reception at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, there were super special details everywhere that clearly couldn’t have come from any store.

As guests entered the reception area, their table assignments were in customized envelopes designed and created by the bride.  Once they reached their seats, each table was adorned with a photo of one of the newlyweds’ pet dogs, as well as custom made favors.  So cute!

Megan, James and I met about a week before the wedding to finalize details.  We had a great time talking about what music they’d love to hear and how to be sure to get their friends and family dancing all night long.  Their playlist ended up being a great mix of 80’s and 90’s dance tunes, with some newer songs included as well.

Megan and James kicked off the evening with their first dance. I love seeing people this happy!

All of their friends and family were crazy fun as the dancing started.

It’s so fun to be a DJ when I get to be a part of such unique and elegant evenings such as this.  Megan and James put together a night like no other, and I was thrilled to be a part of it.  The newlyweds are headed off for some well earned R&R on their honeymoon.

Lynne and Steven (Pittsburgh Marriott DJ)

Your wedding day is the one time in your life when you really have an opportunity to share a bit of yourself with all of your closest family and friends.  I encourage every couple to embrace this fact, and make their reception truly reflect their personalities.  When I arrived at the wedding reception of Lynne Finnerty and Steven Derr at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, it was clear that they had planned for a reception that would truly be one-of-a-kind.

The Grand Ballroom at the Marriott was lit beautifully in purple uplighting.  Lynne and Steve are such a fun couple, they included custom made table numbers featuring photos of themselves.  They also had Mario and Princess Peach on top of their wedding cake!

For the music, they chose a great mix for cocktails and dinner which featured a wide variety of different styles and artists.  When it was time to dance, their friends and family enjoyed music from today’s artists mixed in with a few classic wedding favorites.

Lynne and Steve have such a clear connection to each other, and their energy is contagious.

When it was time to dance, no one was shy about jumping up and starting the celebration!

I try to help make each couple’s celebration match their personal style.  I had a blast working with Lynne and Steve since their main focus was to create a day they knew would be fun for all of the guests.  The newlyweds are now off to Jamaica for their honeymoon.
