Frick Pittsburgh

Few properties in Pittsburgh feel as distinct as The Frick Pittsburgh. The estate offers multiple event locations across its historic grounds, and each one carries its own character. I’ve had the opportunity to provide services in several different spaces here, and no two celebrations have felt the same.
The architecture, gardens, and surrounding landscape provide a built-in sense of atmosphere that doesn’t require heavy production. Guests naturally feel immersed in the property from the moment they arrive.
Because events here often span distinct areas, thoughtful sound placement ensures that music, vows, and announcements feel clear and connected without intruding on the elegance of the setting. When coordinated carefully, the day flows smoothly from ceremony through reception while preserving the estate’s historic character.

Peyton & Nolan’s Dream Day at the Frick (Plus One Unexpected Guest)

There’s something magical about the first wedding of the summer—long daylight, fresh blooms, and that just-right buzz in the air that says, something good is happening. Peyton and Nolan’s wedding at The Frick Museums and Gardens felt exactly like that.

These two pulled together a day that felt beautifully custom to them. Every little detail felt intentional—from the heartfelt ceremony on the steps of the historic Frick mansion to the string lights twinkling above the reception tent later that night. It wasn’t just a celebration—it was a reflection of everything they love: art, music, their people… and apparently, one friendly neighborhood cat.

That’s right. At some point during dinner, a cat from the neighborhood decided to crash the party. This furry little guest strolled through the tent like they belonged there, getting plenty of attention and gentle pets from guests.

The tent setup was seriously stunning. Think: wide open space, a gorgeous bar, and a live painter quietly working on a canvas, capturing the couple’s first dance in real time. It’s those little things that made the day feel extra special.

Music-wise, the vibe was all about balance. We kept things soft and sweet during dinner with singer-songwriters, classic rock, and a few soulful indie tracks that fit the setting perfectly. But once the dance floor opened? Let’s just say: everyone showed up.

The playlist was a high-energy blend of 2000s pop, a little disco, some indie dance gems, and a sprinkle of ABBA and Chappell Roan to keep it joyful. Peyton and Nolan gave me a solid list of must-plays, and I made sure to squeeze in as many as I could with some fast-paced mixing to keep the momentum going.

There was something for everyone, and that’s what made it so fun, like the kind of night you wish would go on forever. And when the final few songs hit (Wagon WheelEverytime We Touch…), nobody wanted it to end.

As guests drifted out of the tent under the stars, we played a sweet little exit set of “How Long Will I Love You” and “Thirteen” by Ben Kweller—both quiet, cozy closers to a perfect day.

Peyton and Nolan, thank you for letting me be part of something so beautifully you. Congratulations!!!

Renae & Louis: A Laid-Back Vineyard Celebration with Global Vibes

Some receptions are all about joy, thoughtful details, and a soundtrack that feels like a warm hug—and that’s exactly the kind of celebration Renae and Louis created out at Bella Terra Vineyards in Hunker, PA.

These two actually eloped a year ago in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but still wanted to gather their favorite people here in Pennsylvania to mark the moment with family and friends. And I’m so glad they did. Their wedding celebration felt like a cozy reunion with a little bit of everything: good weather, great wine, heartfelt toasts, and a dance floor that welcomed every age.

Bella Terra was the perfect backdrop for a June evening. With about 70 guests, the whole night had this easy, comfortable energy—plenty of time for good conversations, warm hugs, and making memories without feeling rushed or over-planned.

One of my favorite moments came just before dinner, when Louis’s brother gave a funny and affectionate little roast of the groom (in true sibling fashion). He also brought along special favors all the way from South Africa to share with the guests, adding a really personal touch that tied the whole evening together. It was obvious how much this moment meant—not just to Renae and Louis, but to their families, too.

Musically, the night had a really great blend. We started with singer-songwriters and chill pop during cocktail hour, mixed in some South African artists during dinner, and built up to a relaxed-but-lively dance floor later in the night. From old-school soul and Motown to a few 2000s pop favorites and even Nkalakatha by Mandoza, there was something for everyone.

Their first dance (shared with all their guests) was Can You Feel the Love Tonight, which could not have been more fitting. It was clear that Renae and Louis were surrounded by people who love them deeply—and honestly, that’s the kind of night you remember.

Thanks for letting me be part of it, Renae and Louis. I had the best time—and I know your guests did too!

A Party to Remember: Lexie and Josh’s Joyful Celebration at The Frick Pittsburgh

From the beginning, it was clear to me that Lexie and Josh’s goal was to throw an epic celebration filled with love, laughter, and plenty of dancing. After eloping in Colorado a year ago, this was their chance to bring together family and friends at The Frick Pittsburgh, one of the city’s most beautiful, historic venues. With the fall leaves changing and the soft glow of the venue, it was the perfect setting for an unforgettable night.

When it was finally time to hit the dance floor, Lexie and Josh kicked things off with their first dance to Florence + The Machine’s version of “Stand By Me.” It was such a magical moment as they were surrounded by their closest friends and family. As soon as the floor opened, guests of all ages couldn’t wait to join them. The variety of music Lexie and Josh chose really showed their dedication to making sure everyone felt included, from classic Motown hits like “My Girl” by The Temptations to crowd-favorites like “Uptown Funk” and “Blame It On The Boogie.”

Lexie and Josh’s playlist included something for everyone—whether it was the retro vibes of Prince and ABBA or the party anthems of Justin Timberlake and Flo Rida, there was a little bit of magic for each guest.

We closed out the celebration with Jungle’s “Busy Earnin’,” a perfectly upbeat track that left everyone on a high note. As the night wound down, the dance floor was still buzzing with laughter and energy—a true testament to the incredible atmosphere Lexie and Josh had created. Their choice of such a fun, varied playlist had everyone—from the youngest guests to the grandparents—dancing, singing along, and celebrating all night.

This reception was more than just a party; it was a reminder of how music can bring people together, create lasting memories, and make any moment feel magical. Lexie and Josh poured their hearts into planning a celebration that honored their love story, and it was a privilege to help them bring their vision to life.
