Willowbrook

One of my favorite things about being a wedding DJ is watching family and friends come together to celebrate a couple they genuinely love. That was the feeling throughout Megan and Ben’s wedding at Willowbrook in Volant, PA. Everywhere I looked, people were laughing, hugging, catching up, and simply enjoying being together. More than once during the reception, older guests stopped by to tell me how much fun they were having. Some clearly didn’t recognize every song that was playing, but it didn’t matter. They were there because they were excited for Megan and Ben, and that kind of happiness is contagious.

Willowbrook was such a great fit for the vision they had for their wedding day. The venue offers several different spaces, which allowed the celebration to naturally flow from one part of the property to another. The ceremony took place on the outdoor patio, surrounded by the kind of garden-party atmosphere Megan and Ben had envisioned. Later in the evening, guests returned to that same patio space for dancing under the night sky. It felt relaxed, romantic, and completely comfortable from beginning to end.

One of the biggest stars of the day might have been Tilly, Megan and Ben’s dog. She wasn’t just part of the ceremony. She also made an appearance on the wedding cake! Her presence carried through to the cookie table as well, where Megan and Ben included special dog treats for guests to take home to their own four-legged family members. Little details like that tell a lot about who they are. Thoughtful, fun, and eager to share the things they love with the people around them.

The music throughout the day reflected that same spirit. The ceremony began with elegant instrumental music before transitioning into a cocktail hour filled with country, Americana, and indie favorites that perfectly matched the laid-back atmosphere. Dinner brought a mix of soul, indie rock, and pop influences while guests visited and enjoyed the beautiful evening. Once dancing started, the energy steadily built as dance-pop favorites, hip-hop, disco, and singalong classics filled the patio. Everyone cheered when Megan made her second entrance in a party dress, and from that point on the dance floor never seemed to slow down. Friends and family were out there dancing together and enjoying every minute.

The night ended exactly the way a great wedding reception should. Everyone gathered around the newlyweds on the dance floor, singing along to “Sweet Caroline” and “Mr. Brightside” before heading off to continue the celebration at the after-party at Primanti’s. Watching Megan and Ben surrounded by so many people who were genuinely thrilled for them was a reminder of what weddings are really about. Not just the details or the timeline, but the chance to celebrate a new chapter with the people who matter most. And with Italy and Switzerland waiting for them on their honeymoon, it felt like their next great adventure was only just beginning.

Halle and Sam wedding had that rare combination going for it. Classy and wholesome on one hand, and a full-on party on the other. Their closest friends and family made the trip out to Volant for the day, and from the time guests started arriving, you could feel they were ready to celebrate these two.

The day was scheduled for an outdoor ceremony at Willowbrook and the weather had other plans for most of the afternoon. The rain held off just long enough though, and Halle and Sam said their vows under the big willow tree on the property.

After the ceremony, everyone moved inside to the rustic barn for the reception, where there was plenty of room to spread out and even more for what was coming later on the dance floor. The barn has high beams, warm wood everywhere, and enough open floor for an epic dance party.

The main room at Willowbrook was the perfect spot for their special dances, and the dance party to follow. After the parent dances, Halle and Sam kicked things off themselves with a choreographed salsa that got everyone ready to party!

The music ran a long arc through the day. Classical strings during the ceremony, then a mix of Indian classical, world fusion, and global instrumentals through cocktails and dinner. That gave the first part of the day this layered, atmospheric feel where guests could actually talk and the music sat underneath the room. Once dancing kicked in, the whole energy shifted. EDM, top 40, and some classic disco all got their turn, and the floor never thinned out. At one point their wedding planner, Anita, came up to tell me it felt like being back in a 2010s dance club, which I’ll take as a compliment any night. The party wrapped with a sparkler sendoff that lit up the path outside the barn, but not before the newlyweds shared a quiet private dance that was beautiful and sweet.

Halle and Sam put a lot of care into this day, and you could feel it in every part of it. The happy couple is now off on a well deserved honeymoon in Rome and Tuscany!

Weddings are such an amazing way to share your favorite things with all of your favorite people. Long gone are the days of generic wedding “staples”, and instead couples can have fun putting together a celebration that truly is a reflection of themselves. I had such a great time working with Kelsey and Jonathan for their one-of-a-kind wedding held on a perfect summer day at Rustic Acre Farm.

Kelsey and Jonathan held their ceremony under the big willow tree near a beautiful lake. This included a fabulous reading of dialogue from “The Princess Bride” which, for me, couldn’t have been more perfect. After that guests were treated to corn hole, dinner, an ice cream station and a cookie tables with treats for both humans and their dogs!

Of course there was plenty of time for dancing as well! Kelsey and Jonathan allowed lots of different kinds of music throughout the night, which gave all their guests opportunity to listen and dance to their favorite songs. To top off the night, guests gathered outside for a wonderful sparkler exit to wish the newlyweds all the best on their new lives together!

Every couple takes a different approach to choosing the music for their big day.  Some only make a few selections, while others pick every song I am to play for their entire day.  Heather and Justin spent their time making some very special and extremely unique choices for their ceremony and reception held on the most beautiful spring day at Rustic Acre Farm in Volant, PA.

This was my first time to be part of a wedding at Rustic Acre Farm, and I can’t imagine a more perfect location for Heather and Justin to start their new lives together.

Married under a large tree next to a pond, the ceremony included instrumental versions of songs from video games like Super Mario and Legend of Zelda!

After guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the patio of the barn, everyone entered the barn for dancing and fun with music from the 50’s to today.  Guests also were able to enjoy outdoor games and a bonfire.  Heather and Justin made great requests which got their friends and family to the dance floor throughout the night.  With a perfect day completed, the newlyweds are ready for their next adventure on their honeymoon in Alaska.
