Eliza & Bobby’s Guests Came Ready to Party at Kamin Science Center

Some wedding crowds need a little time before they’re ready to let loose. Eliza and Bobby’s friends and family were not that crowd. They came ready to celebrate, and once the reception got rolling, there was an excitement in the room that just kept building. Eliza and Bobby wanted a high-energy wedding with lots of dancing, and their guests delivered in a huge way.

Their celebration took place at Kamin Science Center on Pittsburgh’s North Shore. The ballroom’s long stretch of windows gives you an incredible look at the city, and on a warm late-summer evening, it was fun watching that view change as daylight disappeared and Pittsburgh lit up outside. Cocktail hour music was provided by an amazing singer who happened to be Eliza’s former babysitter, which was such a personal connection to have woven into the day.

Dinner had a classic feel with jazz standards and Rat Pack-era favorites, but once dancing began, we went in just about every direction. Motown and disco brought different generations onto the floor, throwback hip-hop kept the energy climbing, and 2010s pop gave the younger crowd plenty to scream along with. The dance floor stayed packed, loud, and wonderfully chaotic, with Eliza and Bobby eventually getting lifted into the air by their friends. By the final stretch, everyone was still going strong, and after the last song they headed outside together for one more late-night treat from the hot dog truck.

There is nothing quite like DJing a wedding where the couple wants a huge party and their guests are completely on board with the assignment. Eliza and Bobby were surrounded by people who genuinely wanted to celebrate them, and you could feel that enthusiasm in every packed-floor moment. After a night like that, a honeymoon in Hawaii sounds like a pretty wonderful way for the two of them to slow things down a little and spend some time with each other.
