Hannah and Ben threw a wedding that was every bit as joyful and fun as they are — and they did it in the best possible place: home. Ben’s parents opened up their beautiful property in Franklin Park for a day that was packed with love, music, and the kind of good energy you wish you could bottle up and keep forever. From their romantic first dance to the surprise ending (spoiler: fireworks), it felt like the kind of night that will be talked about for years.

Hosting your wedding at home comes with its own special kind of magic. Instead of feeling like guests at a venue, everyone felt like part of the family. The property had space for everything: cocktails and dinner up near the house, and a massive tent that turned into a full-blown party zone later in the night. The setting felt personal, welcoming, and uniquely theirs.

A quick shout-out to Ben’s parents, who made the day happen. Not only did they share their home — they helped create a space that was laid-back, beautiful, and totally celebration-ready. It takes a lot of trust to host a 250-person wedding, but they pulled it off like pros.

After dinner, the night kicked off in a way I’ve never seen before — Hannah and Ben shared their first dance to a country duet that had everyone feeling the love. Dinner was followed by meaningful dances with their parents, and then the party really got going. People packed the floor for everything from funky old-school classics to high-energy pop, country anthems, and even a little reggae. This crowd was so much fun!

The perfect ending to a night like this? Fireworks. No, really — everyone made their way down to the lake and were treated to a full show lighting up the sky. It was the kind of moment you hope never ends. I left that night feeling completely lucky to have been a part of it. Hannah and Ben’s wedding was full of heart, laughter, and just the right amount of rowdy!

One of the best parts of being a wedding DJ is when I get to work with couples who simply love music.  This gives me an opportunity to help them make a soundtrack for their wedding day that is like no other.  Mallory and Andy had so many wonderful suggestions and requests for their wonderful ceremony and reception held on a perfect summer day in Finleyville, PA.

Mallory’s family’s backyard made for a perfect intimate setting as their closest friends came to watch them exchange vows and celebrate.  The atmosphere was so fun and relaxed, it was clear how excited everyone was to be a part of this special day.

Mallory and Eric provided me a great variety of song suggestions to play throughout the day that matched their music tastes.  Mallory surprised her friends with a “Taylor 20”, a 20 minute mix of Taylor Swift songs for them to sing and dance to on the back deck.  I was so thrilled that I could be part of this truly once-in-a-lifetime celebration.  After their wonderful wedding, the happy couple went off to enjoy a well-deserved honeymoon in Washington, DC.

This year has been nearly impossible for couples to know what choices to make for their wedding.  While 2020 has been a bit overwhelming for some, Emily and David navigated these unprecedented times with grace and style.  When things threatened their ability to hold an indoor reception, they moved everything to a lovely outdoor location where they held their perfect wedding day amongst all of their favorite people.

The ceremony and reception were all held outdoors in Hooktown, PA.  There was plenty of room for all of their guests to enjoy the beautiful summer day as well as enjoy a special meal provided by a local food truck (very cool idea!).

Every once in a while, I have the opportunity to DJ for a couple who is having their reception some place a little more private than a local hotel, golf club or museum.   There is something incredibly special about inviting your friends and family to your family home that just can’t be duplicated anywhere else.  Jennifer and Kevin’s celebration was held in the backyard of Kevin’s parents house in Canonsburg, PA,  and was the perfect celebration for an evening of fun, food and dancing.

The backyard was transformed into an amazingly beautiful space for a party no one will soon forget!

Guests danced to music from every genre imaginable.  Jennifer and Kevin’s friends and family got wild to songs from oldies to today’s biggest hits.

Having a wedding at home creates a wonderfully special and relaxed atmosphere for everyone involved, while still remaining an elegant and beautiful event.  It was the perfect fit for Jennifer and Kevin as they were able to celebrate their new lives together with all their favorite people.

I was thrilled to get to play at the wedding reception of the new Lynn and Larry Moore. Their wedding was a smaller event held at a private residence in Center Township. I’ve know Lynn for many years and it was wonderful to see her so happy.  The weather Saturday was amazingly perfect, which was GREAT since this was an outdoor event, it couldn’t have been a nicer day. Lynn and Larry had about 40 guests who gathered together to celebrate and although there wasn’t a ton of room, people had a great time dancing, they even did the Soulja Boy dance right there in the garage

Lynn and Larry had big smiles on their face the whole day and couldn’t have been more easy to work with. They were so relaxed and you could tell they were just happy to have friends and family there to celebrate. It was nice to get outside and be a part of such a wonderful and unique day.
