When you think about weddings, you often picture beautiful ceremonies, delicious food, and epic dance floors. But there’s another part of weddings that often flies under the radar—those mini-reunions that bring people back together. Cristine and Roy’s wedding at The Willows was the perfect example of how a wedding isn’t just a celebration of love—it’s also an incredible opportunity for friends and family to reconnect.
Set against the crisp, cozy backdrop of late fall in Western Pennsylvania, their wedding was full of heartwarming moments, stylish details, and just the right amount of nostalgia. I had a personal connection to this one, too—I graduated from Blackhawk High School with Cristine, so seeing so many familiar faces from our class made it extra special. It was amazing to watch classmates, friends, and family reunite, laugh, and celebrate together. Those heartfelt hugs, the “Remember when?” moments, and the pure joy of reconnecting added a layer of magic to an already amazing day.
The Willows was a stunning venue choice for Cristine and Roy. Its elegant yet warm atmosphere was the perfect fit for their guests. I provided sound and music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing—and uplighting to make the ballroom glow with a soft, romantic ambiance. From the moment Cristine walked down the aisle to “I Get to Love You” by Ruelle, you could feel the love in the air. The ceremony was intimate and emotional, with Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day” adding the perfect uplifting note.
As guests moved into cocktail hour, the vibe shifted to laid-back sophistication. The music featured jazzy classics and singer-songwriter favorites like Michael Bublé’s “Everything” and Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers.” It was the ideal soundtrack for mingling, catching up, and sharing stories over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
During dinner, the playlist leaned into timeless elegance. Songs like “La Vie en Rose” by Michael Bublé and “God Only Knows” by John Legend created a warm, romantic ambiance. Cristine and Roy’s first dance to Roberta Flack’s “The Closer I Get to You” was beautifully personal, and their connection was undeniable.
Cristine and Roy’s wedding was a reminder of what makes these celebrations so special—yes, it’s about the love between the couple, but it’s also about the people who come together to support them. It’s about old friends reconnecting, new friendships forming, and memories that last long after the music fades. And honestly, it’s why I love being a DJ. Every wedding has its own unique energy, and I feel so lucky to be part of moments like this.
Cheers to Cristine and Roy for an incredible wedding and to all the mini-reunions that made it so special!
