Sarah and Jason (Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh)

Putting together a wedding is all about finding the right mix.  This is true when it comes to the choosing the guests, the food, and definitely the music.  Sarah and Jason could offer a master’s class on assembling the right blend of personal tastes and guest pleasing elements.  The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh was the perfect venue for their fun and unique ceremony and reception.

From the moment I first met Sarah and Jason, it was clear how much they cared about music.  It was great fun to assemble their music playlist which included some special surprises throughout the evening.  Music is clearly at the center of their relationship. When Jason told me the entrance song, he said, “Sarah told me she wanted to enter to Rush, which is why I love her.”

Throughout the night, the music was a fantastic selection of rock, classic guitar, Motown, and top 40 music.  This great mix gave all the guests a chance to get up and be part of the celebration.  Sarah and Jason put together an amazing day that was meant for everyone to enjoy, and they certainly did!

Kimly and James (Lexus Club Wedding)

Kimly and James’ reception was held at the beautiful Lexus Club @ PNC Park.  They did an amazing job putting together a celebration that would be contemporary, but still include a variety of special traditions which made theirs a day like no other.

I was thrilled to be able to help customize the dining room with uplighting of blue, purple and pink.

Kimly and James each included some ethnic traditions to make the evening even more special.   As part of a Vietnamese tradition, the newlyweds and their families went to every table and shared a toast.  Kimly even changed into a stunning special outfit for this special time.  There was also a money dance that was done to all Greek music.  I loved the inclusion of these events!

The music for the dancing portion of the evening was a perfect match for the happy couple and their fun and wild group of friends and family.  As the night came to a close, Kimly and James were surrounded by their guests as everyone cheered and clapped.  They had created a perfect elegant and modern evening that no one will forget.

Lindsey and Gary (Airport Marriott Wedding)

The memories that are created at weddings are made by truly magical once in a lifetime events.  Lindsey and Gary’s reception at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott was full of amazing moments, some planned and a few spontaneous, that made their perfect celebration like no other.

The ballroom at the Marriott looked amazing, the details Lindsey chose to decorate the room with were stunning.  Guests were blown away by the spectacular ice bar!

Among all the dancing and singing there was a surprise performance of “After The Lovin'” by the Father of the Bride that blew everyone away.  The entire evening was full of wonderful, sweet, silly and crazy moments that the newlyweds will get to cherish for the rest of their lives.  Lindsey and Gary are soon off to Punta Cana for what I’m sure will be a honeymoon to remember.

Katie and Tim (Airport Marriott Wedding)

Pittsburgers love their sports teams, but few are able to figure out ways bring that passion into the biggest day of their lives. Katie and Tim gave their reception at the Airport Marriott a one-of-a-kind Pittsburgh Penguins theme that their friends and families will be talking about for years to come.

The celebration began with the newlyweds entering through a tunnel of hockey sticks as they were presented by a customized introduction recorded by Mike Lange. My two favorite nods to the Penguins were the outstanding ice sculpture of the Stanley Cup and the custom made table card tickets. Such perfect attention to detail!

The best part of being a DJ is getting to play for a group of people who are ready to party. Katie and Tim were so fun and full of energy, they spent tons of time with their awesome guests on the dance floor. The relaxed and upbeat theme created the perfect atmosphere for an epic celebration.

Erin and Mark (Pittsburgh Athletic Association)

When planning the schedule for your reception, it’s the subtle things that can have the biggest impact.  Erin and Mark did a masterful job planning the events for the their special day at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association in Oakland.  Both the way their reception began and ended allowed them to have the perfect wedding day with their friends and family.

The newlyweds took the time between cocktails and the reception to include a receiving line.  This gave the chance to greet all their guests individually and saved them lots of time after dinner.  After all of the fun of the celebration, everyone was invited downstairs to the PAA’s bowling alley for a unique and fun-filled after party.

It was such a pleasure to work with Erin and Mark, who had a great vision for the their wedding day, and I was so happy to see it turn out so perfectly.  The couple now gets to enjoy what I’m sure will be an amazing honeymoon in Curaçao.

Holly and Neil (Omni William Penn Hotel)

The main reason I choose to only DJ for weddings is because I love the fact that no celebration is ever the same.  I love working with people to help create a day which truly reflects their style and tastes.  I can’t think of a better example than the elegant and beautiful reception of Holly and Neil, held in the Urban Room at the Omni William Penn Hotel.

Although they now live in Texas, Holly and Neil gathered their friends and family in downtown Pittsburgh for an evening of class and sophistication.  Guests were in awe as they entered the beautiful Urban Room for dinner and dancing.  Holly and Neil’s background music for cocktails and the meal were a perfect match for their celebration.

When it was time to cut loose, everyone danced to a great variety of songs including Motown classics, rock hits, and some newer dance selections.  The newlyweds and their closest guests danced all the way until 1 AM!  Holly and Neil are now off to spend some time alone together on their romantic Hawaiian honeymoon.
