Cassie and Bobby (Wyndham Grand Wedding DJ)

I simply love the fall, it’s my favorite time of year.  Clearly, so do many Pittsburghers, since so many people choose to have their wedding during this beautiful season.  Cassie Russell and Bobby Mirt used a fantastic fall color palette to give their day an elegant, yet fun appearance.  The view of Pittsburgh from the Wyndham Grand’s ballroom made the entire city match all of their great details.

This was my first time playing at the Wyndham Grand, and I was pleasantly surprised by the great view available from their ballroom.  All of the details really made the room look stunning.

Cassie and Bobby’s music choices were fun and diverse.  Tons of great dance music filled the dance floor all night long.  Some special choices from the likes of New Kids on the Block as well as The Doors made for some great cherish-able memories.

In order to keep the night moving along, the newlyweds held most of their events before dinner.  This relieved stress from the rest of the evening and gave them lots of time to visit and dance.  The timing worked perfectly, since the sun was setting as they had their first dance.

I think almost any DJ would tell you that there is no greater pleasure than a group of guests who are anxious to dance.  I’m pretty confident to say this was the best party happening anywhere in Pittsburgh.

It was such a thrill for me to see one of my favorite couples, Mitch and Nicole Paterline.  I played their wedding back in 2006 and they’ve been so sweet to refer me to so many of their friends.

A beautiful, elegant, and perfect fall wedding, followed by the biggest and wildest party ever.  Cassie and Bobby gave their guests a day that no one (including me) was ready to end.  Their fun and friendly style came through in every detail and moment of this fantastic fall celebration.

Megan and James (Pittsburgh Airport Marriott DJ)

You can make your wedding day much more personal by taking the time to add little touches and special details that will mean a lot to your guests.  If you happen to be creative and crafty, then it should be easy to find ways to customize the day in a variety of ways.  At Megan Nauman and James Dallvechia’s reception at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, there were super special details everywhere that clearly couldn’t have come from any store.

As guests entered the reception area, their table assignments were in customized envelopes designed and created by the bride.  Once they reached their seats, each table was adorned with a photo of one of the newlyweds’ pet dogs, as well as custom made favors.  So cute!

Megan, James and I met about a week before the wedding to finalize details.  We had a great time talking about what music they’d love to hear and how to be sure to get their friends and family dancing all night long.  Their playlist ended up being a great mix of 80’s and 90’s dance tunes, with some newer songs included as well.

Megan and James kicked off the evening with their first dance. I love seeing people this happy!

All of their friends and family were crazy fun as the dancing started.

It’s so fun to be a DJ when I get to be a part of such unique and elegant evenings such as this.  Megan and James put together a night like no other, and I was thrilled to be a part of it.  The newlyweds are headed off for some well earned R&R on their honeymoon.

Kristi and Andor (Greek Orthodox Social Hall DJ)

One aspect of being a wedding DJ that I enjoy is the coordination and effort it takes to be certain the evening runs smoothly.  I work with each couple to make sure their reception includes all the details and events they desire.  The key is in giving the newlyweds time to visit and relax, while making sure the guests aren’t anxiously waiting for something to happen.  This weekend I was part of a fabulous wedding, which included many details that fit perfectly together to make Kristi Tamayko and Andor Dietz’s one I’ll never forget.

The reception was held at the Greek Orthodox Social Hall in Oakmont, PA.  The choice of Fall seasonal colors made the venue look beautiful and elegant.

This may have been the largest chocolate candy buffet I’ve ever seen!

Kristi and Andor’s musical choices were fun and varied.  They even allowed guests to make requests on their RSVPs, which gave me lots to choose from to keep the dance floor moving.

After the newlyweds visited with every one of their guests (they were troopers!), it was time for their romantic first dance.

Everything ran so smoothly, that there were still over two hours for their guests to jump up and celebrate!

Right before the guests headed outside for a sparkler send off, they gathered on the dance floor for a sing along to Garth Brook’s “Friends In Low Places”.  Kristi and Andor had an amazing reception, which included tons of details and special moments, but also allowed them to enjoy quality time with all of their favorite people, which truly is perfect.

Janette and Chris (Green Gables Wedding DJ)

Most of the weddings I play are located in downtown Pittsburgh, or in the surrounding communities, but every once in a while I get to travel a little further away from home to be a part of a couple’s special day.  I find that even though these trips require a little more time and coordination, it typically turns out to be something special and unique that makes the trip worth while.  That was certainly the case at Janette Ogline and Chris Scott’s ceremony and reception held at Green Gables in Jennerstown, PA .

Green Gables is located a little over 90 minutes from Pittsburgh, but once I arrived there it was clear why Janette and Chris chose this beautiful venue for their celebration.

I was able to provide music for the ceremony held on the patio.  It was a crisp fall day, which made for a beautiful backdrop as the couple exchanged their vows.

Janette, Chris and I talked a lot about the music for their big day.  They made sure to include a wide selection that would please their guests throughout the day.

After a relaxing cocktail hour and dinner, the newlyweds had their first dance as husband and wife.

Janette and Chris had planned an intimate reception for themselves and about 75 of their closest friends and family.  The relaxed pace of the day allowed for lots of time for everyone to visit, dance, and celebrate.

As midnight approached, the newlyweds held their last dance along with their closest of friends.  Janette and Chris had found the perfect location which suited their needs as well as their style.  I’m so glad they invited me to be part of this unique and beautiful day.

Jaime and Matt (Carnegie Museum Wedding DJ)

Often when I meet with prospective clients for my DJ service, they’ll ask just how much the music for their wedding reception can be customized.  I always assure them, that if they choose, they could pick 100% of the music to make their day exactly as they wish.  By the time the wedding rolls around, some couples have chosen only a few selections, but there are instances where I get to work with couples who are passionate enough about their music choices to supply me with all the songs I’ll need to make the day a total success.  This weekend at the Carnegie Museum, I was able to help Jaime Azzara and Matt Lagoy put together an amazing, romantic, energetic and unique playlist for their beautiful Pittsburgh reception.

The Carnegie Museum is one of my absolute favorite Pittsburgh reception venues.  The beautiful marble in the Music Hall foyer is always stunning.

Matt and Jaime worked extremely hard on choosing music that not only reflected their taste and style, but also was guaranteed to get everyone up and dancing.  I created quite a few custom mixes for the occasion, so we were sure to be able to fit in all the songs that the newlyweds wanted to hear.

As the guests watched from the balcony of the museum, Jaime and Matt had their first dance together.

After dinner, we wasted no time getting the dance floor going, and the celebration began!

As a wedding dj, it’s fun for me to work with a couple as passionate about music as I am.  I’m thrilled they put their faith in me to make sure everything went as they had planned.  I want to send big thanks and good wishes to the newlyweds as they leave for their Hawaiian honeymoon.

Alyson and Michael (Renaissance Pittsburgh DJ)

I love to be organized. I take my role as wedding DJ seriously and know it’s my responsibility to assist in making the wishes of each bride and groom become reality. My job is always fun, but I get the chance to enjoy myself even more when I work with couples who have the same approach to their reception. Because of their organization and attnention to details, I had a fantastic evening DJ’ing for Alyson Rotz and Michael Joyce at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.

I could talk forever about what a great venue the Renaissance Hotel makes for a fantastic reception.  The view of Pittsburgh is amazing, and of course, Alyson and Michael had arranged to decorate the ballroom in a beautiful and elegant fashion.

I worked with the newlyweds to create a playlist that would not only suit their style, but was sure to keep everyone happy all night long.  Alyson’s father included some fun requests to kick off the celebration, which included Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”!

Alyson and Michael’s first dance was choreographed to Keith Urban’s “Without You”.  They did such a great job!

From their wild excitement during the grand entrance, I knew this was going to be a wild night.  Alyson and Michael’s guests jumped up and crowded the dance floor.

All of the guests joined Alyson and Michael on the dance floor for their last dance.  As they leave for their honeymoon in Aruba, they can relax knowing that their hard work and planning had resulted in the perfect celebration.
