Colleen and Jason (Twelve Oaks Mansion Wedding Reception)

I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to express how much I love being a wedding DJ. There’s something very special about being chosen to work with a couple to help make their big day turn out exactly as they have planned. Colleen and Jason weren’t supposed to be my first wedding of 2020, but I can’t imagine a better way to kick off the season than being part of their wonderful celebration.

Twelve Oaks Mansino Wedding Reception 2020

The reception was held at beautiful Twelve Oaks Mansion in Mars, PA. Colleen and Jason added personal touches (including custom hand sanitizer) that created a terrific atmosphere for their guests to enjoy. I was added some uplighting and their monogram, which looked amazing in the foyer.

While this year has definitely been different for everyone, it was a real joy for me to see how Colleen and Jason’s friends and family came together to ensure this day was perfect for them in every way. It was also very clear to me how much their guests enjoyed this opportunity to relax and spend some quality time together. Personally, I believe there is always some ‘wedding magic’ that happens when people gather to celebrate the love of newlyweds, but Colleen and Jason’s celebration was one I think all of their guests really needed, and one they can all cherish for many, many years to come.

Ashley and John (Renaissance Pittsburgh Wedding Reception)

It’s always a bittersweet feeling for me when I DJ the last wedding of my season each year. While I do enjoy having a little time off to spend with friends and family, I miss having the chance to participate in so many wonderful and happy occasions. I can’t think of a better way to end my 2019 season than to be a part of Ashley and John’s beautiful wedding reception held at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Hotel.

Ashley and John did an amazing job decorating the hotel, and included lots of special details including chocolate covered apples at each place setting! The view from the ballroom was a great way show off Pittsburgh to their out-of-town guests. It also made the perfect spot for an epic dance party!

Ashley and John were great fun to work with. Their fun, relaxed and genuinely kind personalities let me know their reception would be a great time for everyone. The guests had a wonderful time dancing to a wide variety of excellent music from yesterday and today. At the end of the night, the newlyweds were surrounded one of the largest dance circles I’ve ever seen. It was clear no one wanted to miss an opportunity to enjoy every minute of this terrific celebration!

Laura and Greg (University Club of Pittsburgh Wedding Reception)

The thing I love most about being exclusively a wedding DJ is how every event is entirely customized to each couple. Sometimes I work with people who request a large amount of music up front, and then my job is determine how to best make it all work for their guests. In other cases I get to work with a couple like Laura and Greg who made a few specific choices, but gave me the freedom to best determine what would make their friends and family have the most fun.

I can’t imagine there was a better place to hold their celebration than the beautiful University Club ballroom. There was plenty of space for visiting, dining and a fabulous dance party!

Laura and Greg’s friends and family were all remarkably outgoing and friendly all night long. It was such a pleasure to fill their requests and keep the dance party going strong. The newlyweds were able to spend lots of time with their guests and still had lots of opportunity to dance and party. Having spent so much effort making sure everyone had a great time, the happy couple is soon headed off to a well deserved honeymoon in the Caribbean!

Marissa and Caleb (Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Wedding Reception)

I’ve been lucky enough to get to DJ some pretty cool wedding receptions. A lot of couples choose to include a fun or unique element that their guests will never forget. Marissa and Caleb’s wonderful celebration included so many special details and events, I know it will be a night that their friends and family will be talking about for years to come!

Their reception was held at the fabulous Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. The tent and barn were excellently decorated, and made the perfect space for the party of a lifetime. The evening included TWO choreographed dances – one by Marissa and her father, and then later in the night, she danced with her bridesmaids for Caleb to “Shut Up and Dance”! Throughout the evening there were glow lights, cigars, a fire pit (with s’mores), and a taco truck to provide everyone with a late night snack!

The best part of the wedding day was not all the special and unique details, but actually how fun and sweet all of Marissa and Caleb’s guests were all night. It was clear how thrilled everyone was to be with the newlyweds as they start a new chapter in their lives together. After such an amazingly cool evening, the happy couple is now prepared for an even cooler time on their honeymoon to Fiji and New Zealand!

Hannah and Connor (Green Gables Wedding Reception)

Choosing the right venue for a wedding reception can be tricky business. Couples want to find a place that will match their style as well as accommodate all the needs of their family and friends. I can’t imagine a more perfect match for Hannah and Connor’s big celebration than the beautiful and unique Green Gables in Jennerstown, PA.

The main ballroom at Green Gables was the perfect spot for what would be a celebration of epic proportions. Guests enjoyed cocktails and dinner before an unforgettable dance party. Hannah and Connor showed a little Pittsburgh love as all of the guests’ cards were tiny Heinz Ketchup bottles!

Hannah and Connor told me that their guests would be ready for a party, and they certainly did not disappoint! Everyone packed the dance floor even as more tables were moved out of the way. I believe the celebration could have lasted all weekend long, but eventually we had to play the last few songs. The newlyweds were literally surrounded by all of their favorite people one more time in a moment I’m sure no one will forget. Now they get to head off to an even more perfect location as they enjoy a well-deserved honeymoon in Maui.

Colleen and Ben (Noah’s Event Venue Wedding Reception)

Some couples choose to focus solely on the dancing music when making plans for their reception, but I love when I get to work with people who realize that they can use the entire celebration to make their day even more customized to their tastes. Colleen and Ben did a marvelous job choosing wonderfully diverse and unique songs throughout their fabulous wedding reception held at Noah’s Event Venue in Canonsburg, PA.

The ballroom was gorgeously decorated with beautiful greenery and flowers with lots of room for an epic dance party which included all sorts of music so everyone could join the fun.

Colleen and Ben provided song choices that covered cocktail and dinner as well as dancing. I love how by taking the time to consider the entire evening, they were able to include music from all of their favorite artists. This made for a one-of-a-kind soundtrack that was the perfect match for them as well as their super fun friends and family. Colleen and Ben can now pick out some music to listen to as they head off for their fabulous honeymoon in London and Amsterdam!
