Adrienne and Edward (Edgewood Country Club)

Great friends and great music make for great weddings.  I love that I get to see couples surrounded by their closest friends while dancing and singing to their favorite songs.  Adrienne and Ed had plenty of both for their elegant and fun reception at the Edgewood Country Club in Chuchill, PA.

This was an especially fun night for me since I was lucky enough to know a few of the newlyweds’ friends.  I had played, or am about to play at their weddings.  On top of that, I was able provide uplighting and a custom monogram to the already beautiful ballroom.

Adrienne and Ed put together a fantastic day for everyone to enjoy.  Their attention to detail combined with their relaxed nature made their wedding day absolutely perfect.  Now they get to get some time away from it all as they head off for a romantic honeymoon in St. Lucia.

Lauren and Chris (Phipps Conservatory)

A key to a great reception is to allow some variety into your music selections.  Lauren and Chris did an amazing job coming up with a mix of music that appealed to all of their friends and family for their nuptials and celebration at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh.

Phipps was the perfect location for the newlyweds’ big day.  Their ceremony and cocktails were held in the outdoor gardens with a live string quartet.  Throughout the rest of the evening, guests were treated to music from every decade from the 40’s til Today.  Since it was a wonderful summer day, guests were able to enjoy the space outside the Special Events Suite which featured a cigar bar!

Lauren and Chris did an amazing job mixing their tastes of 80’s and current music along with great classic songs they knew their wedding guests would enjoy.  Throughout the reception I had people stopping by to tell me how much they were enjoying the music selections.  At the end of the night, everyone cheered for these fun and sweet newlyweds and even insisted on an extra song to keep the party going just a little longer.

Connie and Daniel (Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh)

I find that every couple I work with is able to create ways to really be themselves on their wedding day.  Connie and Dan spent lots of time making their reception at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh a fantastic representation of their lives together.

Their ceremony was held in the Art Room of the Children’s Museum and featured a reading from the Velveteen Rabbit, and a banjo performance of “Rainbow Connection”.  Connie and Dan also read their own vows, which were not only hilarious, but  very sweet and personal.  The customization continued as the venue was filled with unique pins made for each guest (and even the DJ!)

There was also a wonderful selection of music for me to use throughout the day.  When it was time to dance, guests of all ages were able to enjoy a mix of Motown, disco and 90’s hip hop.  Connie and Dan are creative, artistic, fun, and caring people, and they used their talents and passions to make their day absolutely perfect.

Kristen and Omar (Carnegie Museum)

I believe every couple should be able to have their wedding exactly as they’ve always dreamed.  It’s important to make the details of your day a true reflection of who you are.  Kristen and Omar did an amazing job making their celebration at the Carnegie Museum a terrific blend of style, elegance, and fun.

Their reception began with cocktails in the Hall of Architecture, with live music by the MerryMakers, who then led the guests in a New Orleans Style parade to the Music Hall Foyer, where the newlyweds held their romantic first dance.  It was a great way to show everyone this was going to be a very special evening.

As dinner ended, the guests were able to enjoy a great mix of music chosen by the newlyweds.  Kristen and Omar worked hard on a playlist which included everything from Sinatra, The Drifters, Journey, and Neil Diamond, as well as newer music from Pitbull and Michael Jackson.  The music, as well as many other elements of the evening, worked perfectly as a way for this fun and stylish couple to share parts of themselves with their closest friends and family.

Natalie and Denny (Airport Marriott)

I tell everyone I work with that time has no meaning on a wedding day.  It’s impossible to know how much time you may need to have the day of your dreams.  Natalie and Denny’s planned their reception at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott in Moon Township to use all of their time perfectly to create an celebration of epic proportions.

After cocktails were served in the patio, guests were lead to the the Grand Ballroom at the Marriott, which was meticulously decorated to help create an atmosphere of elegance and style.

The newlyweds kept the evening simple, choosing to exclude some wedding traditions in favor having more time to dance and visit with their friends and family.  It was the perfect choice, since everyone from both families filled the dance floor to a fantastic mix of music from every genre.  The party raged on until 1AM, which was 2 hours after the bar closed!  Natalie and Denny planned their reception so they could treasure every second of the day.  They are now off to make more memories on their romantic Hawaiian honeymoon.

Alaina and Alexander (Wendel Inn)

Wedding guest lists always contain a great variety of types of people.  Cousins, uncles, grandparents, nieces, nephews, high school and college friends, co-workers and more all gather together to help couples celebrate their special day.  Alaina and Alex did an amazing job when selecting music for their elegant reception at the Wendel Inn in Pittsburgh, PA.

The newlyweds took full advantage of the evening by including custom music genres for cocktails (Doo-Wop & Motown music) and for dinner (love songs from the 50 through today.  This allowed for a great variety of unique songs that appealed to their friends and family.

When it was time to dance, there was plenty of great music to get the party started.  Their guests enjoyed everything from oldies, country, top 40, and more.  I had a blast working with Alaina and Alex and loved how they used music to create a wedding soundtrack that would appeal to everyone.  They’re now preparing for a well deserved honeymoon in Punta Cana.
