Ally and Bob (Omni William Penn)

Everyone knows that the bride and groom are the center of attention on their wedding day.  Every once in awhile I get to work with a couple who shares that spotlight with their family and friends.  Ally and Bob gave lots of opportunities for all their guests to be part of their epic celebration at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA.

Their wedding reception was held in the William Penn Ballroom, and I was thrilled when they asked me to provide uplighting for the evening.  I love how lighting can help a couple customize a ballroom to truly match their style and tastes.

The entire evening, from the over-the-top grand entrance, to the opening dance party, to the amazing celebration that lasted until 2AM, their guests sang, danced and just went insane to all the great music.  I had so much fun being a part of this special evening as well as getting to know the newlyweds and their families.  Ally and Bob are off to begin their next adventure as they move to Texas!

There are no words.  I wish I could give Schiemer Entertainment 100x the amount of stars possible on this website.

To me the music and DJ at a reception is what keeps the party alive. I wanted a wedding where guests would talk about it for hours, days, weeks, months, and years after. We haven’t gotten to months or years, but hours, days, and weeks have passed and the response I keep getting is that I had the best wedding my guests had ever been to. Although that is a compliment to me, I think it is more a compliment to my DJ. Eric Schiemer was able to put together a playlist of music that kept people on their feet all night.

After speaking on the phone with Eric, I knew he was my man. He possessed a knowledge about weddings that other DJ’s I had contacted didn’t have.  Once booked, he gave me access to a site that allowed me to input all my information, choose songs, create a do not play list, and organized all my songs and information to make the reception planning easy.

Like mentioned above, I have not a complaint in the world about Eric. He is the single person I credit for the amazing time my guests, my husband, and I had at my reception. He listened to what I wanted, created an amazing playlist, and flawlessly input guest requests into the reception.

I cannot thank Eric enough for helping us celebrate such a special night.

Catherine and Jason (Omni William Penn)

Weddings are typically a very special time to spend with your friends.  As couples move into a new stage of life, the reception can be a fantastic opportunity to connect and celebrate with friends from childhood and school.  Catherine and Jason were joined by many of the friendliest (and craziest) people I’ve met for their wedding reception at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Urban Room at the Omni created the perfect setting for dinner and dancing.  Catherine and Jason’s decorations worked perfectly with the classic charm of the venue.

Making the evening even more special, the newlyweds gave their friends the opportunity to be a part of special songs/events.  This included a huge wedding selfie and an epic Notre Dame pushup tradition which I’m sure no one will ever forget.  Catherine and Jason’s guests helped create an evening that was truly fun and unique.  With their perfect wedding day completed, they are now off to Italy for a well dererved honeymoon.

Katie and Andrew (Carnegie Museum)

I sometimes get the chance to DJ for weddings which have used a theme to tie details and decorations together.  Katie and Andrew’s “How I Met Your Mother” inspired wedding has to be one of the most cute and imaginative ideas I’ve ever seen.  Their ceremony and reception were held in the amazingly beautiful Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh, PA.

Subtle details from the TV show could be seen throughout the venue, but Katie and Andrew carefully planned everything so well that even non-HIMYM fans wouldn’t feel out of the loop.  The card box, table cards, cake, and more were all charming references to the show, while still remaining elegant and beautiful.

The newlyweds did a fantastic job planning the details of their wedding, including some amazing music choices throughout the day.  Guests had a great time dancing, singing and getting a little crazy to a great variety of music.  Katie and Andrew’s day full of woo-girls, wingmen, yellow umbrellas, and 1 ducky tie was the perfect match for their charming and fun personalities.  They’re now off to Fiji begin the next season of their lives together.  It’s sure to be Legen…dary.

Chelsea and Brian (Carnegie Museum)

What really makes a wedding day a “Once In A Lifetime” event?  I feel what makes the wedding day unique is the  fact that this particular group of friends and family will never gather together again to celebrate the love of the bride and groom.  Chelsea and Brian’s wedding reception at the Carnegie Museum Music Foyer was an over the top celebration, thanks to their fun and energetic guests.

The Carnegie Museum is one of my favorite wedding venues in all of Pittsburgh.  Beautiful and elegant, the setting suited the newlyweds perfectly.

Chelsea and Brian knew exactly which music would get the dance floor going.  A mix of mostly newer music with some great wedding classics mixed in through the night kept guests of all ages partying all night.  I had a blast being a part of this amazingly perfect evening, and couldn’t be happier for Chelsea and Brian as they head to St. Lucia for their honeymoon.

Emily and Ryan (Airport Marriott)

Every once in a while, I’m lucky enough to DJ for a couple who know exactly what songs will connect with their guests and take their celebration to the next level.  Emily and Ryan recommended a fantastic selection of music which made their reception the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott the party of a lifetime.

Throughout the ballroom, Emily and Ryan provided customized touches to make the day even more special.   Their tables were named for locations at Penn State, paying homage to the newlyweds’ alma mater.

Once dinner was completed, the dance floor exploded as everyone danced, sang and went wild to a great variety of music.  Guests of every age couldn’t seem to get enough of the songs from every genre.  Emily and Ryan knew exactly how to create an epic celebration that no one would soon forget.  The newlyweds are now headed off to Hawaii to begin their new life together.
