Sarah and Shane (Grand Concourse Wedding Reception)

The best advice I can give to anyone for their wedding is to be sure to include unique and special details throughout the day that will make you happy.  These are the moments/events/decor that will stand out most to your friends and family.  Sarah and Shane’s ceremony and celebration was jam packed with one-of-a-kind elements that I’m sure all of their guests will be talking about for years to come.

The wedding and reception were held at the beautiful (and recently restored) Grand Concourse at Station Square in Pittsburgh.  Sarah and Shane were married on the grand staircase where everyone had a fabulous view as they shared their vows

After guests enjoyed dinner (and a fabulous wedding cheesecake) it was time to celebrate!  The dance floor was filled with fun, laughter and a few surprises including a horse and giant heads of the newlyweds’ pets!

Sarah and Shane were so much fun to work with.  Their main focus was on making sure everyone had a wonderful time, and there is no doubt that their special day was a huge success!  Friends and family from all across the country sang and danced until the very last song, then they all headed off to continue the celebration at the after-party!  The happy couple treated everyone (including me) to a night no one will soon forget.

Katie and Joe (White Barn Wedding)

Most wedding couples enjoy a wide variety of music, but not every style is the type that always fills the dance floor.  I love working with couples that incorporate lots of their favorite songs throughout the day in order to make their celebration even more special.  Katie and Joe love lots of different music and made sure their big day had a little something for everyone.

The ceremony and reception where held on a perfect Spring day at the beautiful White Barn in Prospect, PA.

Their ceremony, cocktail reception and dinner featured lots of country music which matched perfectly with the rustic vibe of the venue.  When it was time to dance the music switched to a little bit of everything from yesterday and today.  The dance party was fantastic and both Katie and Joe were tossed in the air by all of their friends!

Katie and Joe created a warm and relaxed atmosphere for their guests to be able to join in the celebration.  As the night came to a close, all of their friends and family formed a huge circle around the newlyweds as they danced to “Closing Time”.  It was clear that no one wanted the day to be over.  Everyone hopped on the bus to the hotel/after party for a little more time with the happy couple before they head off for a romantic honeymoon in California.

Bridget and Ryan (Slippery Rock University Wedding Reception)

Being a DJ, it’s always fun for me to work with couples who love all sorts of music.  It’s always great when newlyweds provide me with a list of special songs that are unique to their tastes so I can use that to make their day extra perfect.  Bridget and Ryan spent some serious time developing an awesome playlist for me to use at their celebration, it couldn’t have been better.  Their reception was held at the Robert M Smith Student Center at Slippery Rock University.

The Student Center at Slippery Rock provided a wonderfully large space for all of Bridget and Ryan’s friends and family to enjoy an evening of fun.  I was thrilled to provide some uplighting and a monogram to help customize the space for the celebration.

The songs that I played throughout the evening was diverse and entertaining.  Guests were able to enjoy every style of music from oldies, rock, country and top 40.  This made for a dance party everyone could enjoy.

Bridget and Ryan put together an amazing party from beginning to end for their closest friends and family.  The evening allowed lots of time for visiting, dancing and celebrating.  After all their hard worked paid off, the happy couple will soon be off for a well-deserved honeymoon in Greece!

Kim and Matthew (Omni Bedford Springs Resort Wedding Reception)

Kim and Matt love Disney!  They were engaged at Disneyland and considered having their wedding & reception right there in the park.  They instead chose to hold their big day at the amazingly beautiful Bedford Springs Resort right here in Western Pennsylvania, but that didn’t keep them from creating a truly magical day for themselves and all of their friends and family.

Kim and Matt were blessed with a beautiful and warm day, so the nuptials were held outside of the resort.  Music was provided by a fabulous quartet as the happy couple were married under an elegant chuppah.  After the ceremony and cocktails, guests entered the ballroom, which featured a large custom dance floor!

Later in the evening, guests were treated to a surprise fireworks show on the front lawn of the resort before returning for a fabulous dance party of music from yesterday and today.

Lauren and PJ (University Club Wedding Reception)

Weddings tend to also double as reunions for all the guests who gather together to celebrate with the newlyweds.  Friends and family travel from all over, and for many, it’s a chance to reconnect with people they haven’t seen for many years.  Lauren and PJ’s reception was full of love and laughter as everyone enjoyed spending time together at the beautiful University Club in Pittsburgh, PA.

The ballroom was stunningly decorated and made the perfect venue for an evening of dining and dancing.

Lauren and PJ’s playlist included many songs that brought everyone to the dance floor to get a little wild.  It was clear as midnight approached that their closest friends and family were thrilled to be there and to be part of  the happy couple’s big day.  As much as the newlyweds enjoyed spending such a great time with everyone, I’m sure they’re now ready for a little time together on their honeymoon in the Cayman Islands.

Stefanie and David (Veltres Event Center Wedding)

When people find out that I’m a wedding DJ, one of the first questions tends to be “Did you DJ your own reception?”.  To make a long story short, yes, I did… but it’s certainly not something I’d recommend.  When you work as a DJ, finding someone else to play such an important part of your big day can be a very daunting task.  It’s why I was thrilled when Stephanie and David chose me for their entertainment since David and his brother Vince regularly DJ at weddings throughout the Pittsburgh area.  It was great fun for me to work with an experienced professional and even more fun to watch everything unfold at their beautiful celebration held at the Veltre’s Wedding & Event Centre in Plum, PA.

The event centre offers lots of beautiful spaces with spectacular views.  Everything was beautifully decorated with personal touches everywhere for the happy couple’s guests to enjoy.

Once dinner was over, everyone moved to a large and fabulous lounge/bar area for dancing, singing and lots of celebrating!

Stefanie and David put lots of special and memorable touches into their wedding reception.  There were special introductions for every member of the bridal party, a perfectly Pittsburgh themed cookie table, and songs from every genre imaginable to keep all their guests happy and dancing all night long.  The hardest part of the night was having it end all too soon.  The newlyweds were literally surrounded by all their favorite people as everyone moved in for a giant hug as the last song ended.  I feel confident David had no regrets not being his own DJ as he and Stefanie headed off with their friends and family to start their new lives together.
