Alyssa and Tom (Syria Shriners Wedding)

While every wedding is full of people that are very happy for the newlyweds, occasionally I get to DJ a wedding where the guests are so over-the-top excited the energy uncontainable.  Alyssa and Tom held their wonderful wedding reception at the Syria Shiners Center in Chadwick, PA, and it was a celebration to be remembered by everyone.

The ballroom at the Syria Shriner’s was the perfect location for a large gathering of all their friends and family.  I was thrilled to get to provide uplighting and monogram which helped add a custom feel the room.

Guests enjoyed a wonderful evening of food and fun, and when the dancing started, no one was shy about joining in the party!

Working with Alyssa and Tom was so much fun, it was wonderful to see their friends and family so excited to be a part of their epic wedding day.  The happy couple is headed off to the Siesta Key in Florida, a romantic and hopefully relaxing honeymoon!

Julie and Evan (Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh Wedding)

Weddings are always fun.  It’s why I decided long ago to only be a wedding DJ, because I love working with couples to create a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that is a good time for everyone.  Julie and Evan worked some real magic in making sure their wedding day at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh was jam packed full of unique and fun details that guaranteed a night that will have their guests talking for years to come.

I’m always amazed by the transformation of the Children’s Museum into an elegant wedding venue.  Julie and Evan were married in the Art Studio before guests made their way to the Big Red Room for an evening of celebrating.  I was so happy I could provide uplighting and a monogram to help them customize the ballroom for the newlyweds.

I still can’t get over this amazing guest book idea!  What an amazing keepsake!

Julie and Evan’s big day was filled with something for everyone.  Their guests were treated to an evening like no other.  Everyone enjoyed dancing and singing to great hits from yesterday and today.  The happy couple is off to what I’m certain will be an amazingly fun honeymoon in Banff!

Gabby and Stephen (Grand Concourse Wedding Reception)

I’ve been having the best time this year working with couples who have wonderful and unique ideas for the music for the wedding reception.  I encourage people to find ways to incorporate all their favorite songs throughout the celebration.  Gabby and Stephen took full advantage of this on their beautiful day at the Grand Concourse in Pittsburgh, PA.

The main room at the Grand Concourse is always breathtaking and made the perfect location for the newlyweds to hold their ceremony and reception.   Gabby and Stephen chose great music for me to play throughout the night.  The background music featured selections from all genres including rock, oldies and classic singer-songwriters, and when the party got started, their friends and family couldn’t wait to celebrate to even more great music!

Everyone came to share this amazing day with the happy couple, and it was clear how thrilled they all were to wish the newlyweds happiness in this new chapter of their lives together.  Gabby and Stephen will be heading off soon for more special times on their honeymoon in Ireland.

Stephanie and Brendan (Carnegie Museum Wedding Reception)

A common question people ask me is “how to get the party started after everyone has enjoyed a delicious meal?”.  The answer can vary depending on the guests, but every once in a while, I get to work with a couple who has found a fun and unique way to instantly get everyone on the dance floor.  Stephanie and Brendan figured that out, as well as many other wonderful details for their beautiful and elegant wedding reception at the Music Hall Foyer in the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh.

I’ve been very blessed to play at the museum quiet a few times, and I’m always taken back by the incredible beauty of the music hall.

After Stephanie and Brendan’s friends and family enjoyed cocktails and dinner, it was time for some very special dances with the parents.  Not only were both dances incredibly sweet, Stephanie and her father’s dance was a medley of upbeat songs, ending on “We Are Family”.  They pulled everyone onto the dance floor and the celebration was instantly a success!

The music choices the newlyweds made were a perfect match for the friends and family.  Everything from classics to today’s biggest hits kept the party going.  In the end, Stephanie and Brendan were surrounded by their favorite people as they all sang and cheered.  The happy couple is headed off to Hawaii for a fun-filled and relaxing honeymoon.

Chelsea and Matt (Edgewood Club Wedding Reception)

One of the best parts of my job is that I get to work with couples who have fun and unique ideas about how to make their reception match their style and personality.  This can include everything from fresh music choices to slight variations in wedding traditions.  Chelsea and Matt made some fantastic choices for their big day held at the Edgewood Club.

The Edgewood Club is a wonderful venue, and was decorated beautifully for the celebration.

After the introductions, Chelsea and Matt had me encourage their guests to stand, sway and sing along as they danced their first dance to Imagine Dragon’s version of “Stand By Me”.  This unique idea helped establish a fun environment that lasted throughout the evening.  It turned their guests from spectators into  participants, which meant that everyone got to be part of the special moment.  Brilliant!

After dinner and some very special parent dances, it was time to CELEBRATE!

Chelsea and Matt took great care in planning an evening that made their friends and family feel special.  The music included choices from yesterday and today so no one was left out of the party.  As the night ended, everyone headed outside for an epic sparkler send off.  The happy couple is now off to Costa Rica for their well-deserved honeymoon.

Colleen and Chris (Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh)

Everyone has their own favorite style of music, and it’s always fun to work with with couples who have some unique ideas for their wedding day.  Colleen and Chris had wonderful selections for their wedding day, and even got a great surprise from Colleen’s musical family!  Their wedding ceremony and reception were held on a perfect Spring day at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.

The Children’s Museum makes for a wonderful venue to hold a wedding.  There are lots of great spaces for the entire celebration.

During the toasts, a large number of Colleen’s family broke into an amazing version of “Happy Together” including guitars, a trumpet and tambourine!  It was a sweet and entertaining moment for everyone.

The music for the evening included songs from musicals, standards, oldies, 70’s and some of today’s hits as well.  It was fun to watch guests of all ages on the dance floor join in the party!  Colleen and Chris put together an amazing wedding soundtrack that will keep their guests talking for years to come.  The happy couple is headed off to Paris for a well deserved honeymoon.
