A wedding reception can be the time when you can truly let loose. All the hard work and planning have paid off, and it’s finally time to enjoy yourself completely with friends and family. It was a pleasure for me to watch Katie and Patrick get a little crazy during their fantastic reception at the Four Points Sheraton in Cranberry, PA.
Katie and Patrick included a ton of fun, memorable moments that their guests are sure to talk about for years to come. Michael Jackson-style dancing, singing, and a hilarious garter removal all helped keep everyone entertained.
All of the fun didn’t take away from the beauty and elegance of the night. Katie and Patrick had some wonderful romantic moments as well. When the night was over, the couple were off to prepare for their honeymoon cruise, where I’m sure they will continue to get a little wild.
I love working with couples who not only love music, but who know how much fun it can be to use a specific song to enhance their wedding reception. I had a blast working with Ashley and Matt to create a once in a lifetime mix of music that suited them perfectly.
The reception, which was held at J. Verno Studios, kicked off with a grand entrance, which featured each couple of the bridal party walking in to custom songs. Afterwards Ashley and Matt danced to a unique and romantic mix of two Elton John songs.
The music the newlyweds chose for their day was a perfect reflection of their personal style. With dinner and formal events out of the way, the dance party quickly began. Everyone had a fantastic time dancing to a great variety of music and no one was ready for the party to end. The couple now gets to continue their celebration in St. Lucia.
One thing I truly enjoy at the reception is mixing in recent hits amongst traditional crowd pleasing songs. It’s fun seeing the bridal party, their parents, and even their grandparents, getting a bit wild to newer music.
Timing is always one of the most tricky aspects of any wedding day. While you don’t want to be trapped by holding to a strict schedule, it’s easy to lose track of time during a day full of activities. It was great fun to be part of Mackenzie and Zachary’s perfectly executed wedding day in which, without even trying, everything happened exactly as planned.
Held on a perfect spring day at the Duquesne Power Center ballroom, Mackenzie and Zachary were nice enough to allow me to debut my uplighting package. I loved how it helped enhance the already beautiful room to match the colors of the wedding.
One of my favorite things about working with Mackenzie and Zach was their love of music. The choices they made gave the reception a truly unique style. Once the final song came to an end, the ballroom was still full of guests who couldn’t get enough of what was a simply perfect celebration. The couple now head off for a romantic, and well planned, honeymoon in San Francisco and Hawaii.
You don’t need shoulder pads, swatch watches or big hair to want to include a little Journey, Bon Jovi, Madonna or Kenny Loggins into your wedding celebration.
