Kira and Ryan (Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh)

From the moment I met Kira and Ryan, I knew their reception would be something special.  Their chemistry and love for life was immediately evident and I was thrilled when they chose me to be their DJ.  Since they both work as musicians, I knew we would have great fun working together on the perfect playlist.

The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh was the perfect location for the elegant and unique celebration.  I received many compliments all night long about Kira and Ryan’s fantastic music choices.  They chose to have me provide uplighting for the Big Red Room which really helped customize the space to their colors.

Ryan and Kira tore up the dance floor along with their friends and family to a great mix of music.  Everyone danced and sung along with great conviction, and it was a party I had hoped would never end.  I consider myself fortunate not only to have been part of such a perfect day, but for getting to know these wonderfully wild, funny, Disney-loving, crazy-talented newlyweds.

This has been an amazing summer with some really fun dance hits, making it even more fun to be a DJ.  Since many Pittsburgh weddings are including these new songs in their playlists, I thought I should put together a little remix of my favorites. Please enjoy this End Of Summer 2013 Dance Mix featuring songs by Robin Thicke, Daft Punk, Calvin Harris and more! This mix is a little over an hour long so crank it up and get ready to dance!

If you enjoy this mix, you can download it for your mobile device. You can find a few more mixes over here.

Kate and Steve (Mayernik Center Wedding)

One of the most touching moments during your reception can happen during the toasts.  While some toasts are comical and/or embarrassing, I love seeing when people use the time to share special thoughts or feelings with the newlyweds.  Kate and Steve’s wedding at the Mayernik Center featured 2 special toasts which no one will forget.

The first toast was given by Kate’s father.  He did a fantastic job welcoming all of the guests who had come to celebrate with the newlyweds.  Afterwards, Steve provided a touching and heartfelt speech which was an amazing way to show his love to his new bride.  Later that evening, while it wasn’t exactly a speech, Kate and Steve’s friend did an amazing job performing 2 songs for the happy couple.

Kate and Steve created a completely unique  playlist for their special day.  Their song choices included New Orleans jazz (cocktails), Motown & standards (dinner) and a great selection of classic rock and modern hits for guests to enjoy while visiting, dancing and celebrating.  All the special moments and music added up to a romantic, sweet and wonderfully fun day for everyone.

Kelli and Eric (Westin Convention Center)

I believe most people anxiously wait for real moments in life to get excited and be a little crazy.  Kelli and Eric’s friends and family were absolutely ready when they gathered at the Westin Convention Center Ballroom for a huge celebration like no other.

The large ballroom was the perfect location for the couple’s reception, and provided a great space for everyone to dance, sing, visit and enjoy themselves all night long.  At the end of the night everyone barely fit on the huge dance floor to give the couple a big send off.

It was obvious that Kelli and Eric’s guests were genuinely excited to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime occasion as many of them headed to the after-party at the hotel bar.  The newlyweds are now off to St. Lucia for some well deserved R&R, after their giant kickoff to their new lives together.

Emily and Ryan (Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh)

I find it inspiring when a couple is brave enough to truly customize their wedding to create an experience like nothing else.  Emily and Ryan were completely fearless when planning their special day held entirely at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.

Part of what made their celebration unique was avoiding many traditional elements (no bridal party, no head table or sweetheart table).  They included a variety of one-of-a-kind details, of which the most obvious was Emily’s stunning non-traditional wedding dress, which suited her style perfectly.

The music the newlyweds chose was the perfect match for their big day.  Everything from the ceremony to the last song was a fun twist on the standards (including the Hora to kick off the dance celebration was genius).  Emily & Ryan never hesitated to make bold choices and the results were spectacular.

Megen and Keith (Pittsburgh Athletic Association)

When your wedding is over, how will your guests describe it?  I’m sure  Megen and Keith’s family and friends will be using words like elegant, romantic, fun, and completely unforgettable.

Woody Harmon Wedding

Their celebration was held at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association in Oakland, which was decorated beautifully.  My favorite touch was how each table featured a romantic quote from the couple’s favorite movies.

Keith said to me at the end of the night that the day had been more than he had ever hoped for, which is exactly what I wish for every bride and groom.  Hopefully, Megen and Keith will be able to say the same thing about their romantic honeymoon in Jamaica!
